Abstract

Introduction: Implant dentistry uses dental implants to rehabilitate patients with tooth loss and to restore functional and aesthetic aspects. The search for biomaterials capable of optimizing hemostasis, modulating inflammation, and accelerating healing has driven the use of autologous platelet aggregates, such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and leukocyte- and platelet-rich fibrin (L-PRF). These materials concentrate growth factors and cytokines essential for promoting tissue repair and bone regeneration, becoming important allies in regenerative dental procedures and improving the quality of patient treatment. General objective: Studies demonstrating the benefits of using platelet aggregates in adult patients undergoing dental implant procedures were explored. Methods: Literature review carried out using the LILACS, COCHRANE, and Google Scholar platforms, in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, with publications from 2017 to 2026. Expected results: To highlight the benefits of using these aggregates in promoting angiogenesis and cellular proliferation in dental bone grafts, and to demonstrate their capacity in the restructuring of the bone matrix.
