Abstract

Racism constitutes one of the deepest and most persistent problems of humanity, operating not only on a social level but also in the psychic field of individuals. This study aims to analyze the impacts of racism on the mental health and subjectivity of children and adolescents, as well as on the learning process, highlighting how continuous exposure to racial discrimination can generate psychological suffering, identity conflicts, and feelings of inferiority and non-belonging. This is a qualitative, bibliographical research, based on the analysis of recent academic productions and reference authors who address the relationship between racism, mental health, and education. The results indicate that racism is directly associated with the development of disorders such as anxiety, depression, and psychological stress, in addition to compromising the school performance and socialization of students. It is concluded that confronting racism requires collective action, highlighting the role of schools in promoting an anti-racist education that can strengthen self-esteem, belonging, and the integral development of individuals.
