Abstract

Background: Congenital Zika Virus Syndrome (CZVS) leads to severe neuromuscular impairment with substantial upper limb dysfunction. Methods: Cross-sectional study including 23 children with confirmed CZVS. Morphological and functional assessments of hands and wrists were performed. Results: Thenar hypotrophy, wrist deformities, and passive rigidity were associated with reduced active motor control. Conclusions: Morphofunctional abnormalities of the hand are key determinants of functional impairment, supporting early orthopedic and rehabilitative strategies.
