Abstract

Palliative care is a fundamental approach in healthcare, especially for patients with chronic, progressive, and life-threatening diseases. This study aims to analyze the role of nursing in promoting quality of life within the context of palliative care. This is a narrative literature review based on national and international guidelines and recent scientific publications. Evidence shows that nurses play a central role in symptom assessment and management, therapeutic communication, emotional support, and the promotion of patient dignity. Nursing practice directly contributes to the humanization of care, reduction of suffering, and strengthening of comprehensive care. It is concluded that nursing is essential in the implementation of palliative care, and there is a need to expand professional training and strengthen its integration into healthcare services.
